OPI has empowered grain managers in 40 countries worldwide with a smarter approach to managing and marketing their most valuable asset. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations; the Controller is responsible for managing the overall financial operations of OPIsystems Inc. (CDN entity), and Integris a wholly owned US subsidiary. The Controller will provide accurate information to the CEO, including analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. The Controller should also have experience with reporting to both the CRA and the IRS. The Controller will be responsible for directing and managing the company's accounting functions, which includes establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures and the preparation of financial statements and reporting to the Executive team. The Controller also maintains the company's accounting systems and implements changes as required. Role Responsibilities: Financial Accounting o Manage company financial accounting activities for two corporate entities (CDN/USA) o Coordinate the annual budget and forecasting process o Develop and manage KPI's and other relevant performance metrics, including custom dashboards Corporate Finance o Participate in strategic business, finance and treasury o Manage financial details of significant growth program o Manage working capital, cash flows and surplus cash investment o Develop performance measures for organizational accountability o Oversee risk management Cost Accounting o Manage company cost accounting activities o Update product costs annually or as needed o Add the direct labour costs based on labour standards to the cost of direct materials o Provide analysis, cost trends & utilization results o Coordinate and direct semi-annual physical inventory count and valuation with Production Administration o Review contracts and other legal documentation o Support the management of IP o Annual review of corporate insurance needs and policy renewal o Develop and create reports to support other departments. Education Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a related discipline - Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) Qualifications/Skills - Relevant small business full cycle accounting experience - Experience with Canadian & USA financial reporting - Knowledge of InFor ERP, Visual and Synoptix report writer an asset - Ability to query SQL data base directly - 3-5 years' experience in a senior financial position or post designation - Superior analytical and financial modelling to conduct annual budgets/ forecasts, understanding costs to develop pricing, and the ability to analyze break-even under various pricing models - Strong business sense and results oriented - Team player with ability to motivate and lead - Excellent verbal & written communication skills If you feel you are the professional team player we are looking for, please forward your resume and cover letter to: OPIsystems Inc.
